Once upon a time…
When the last light in the town clicked off, and the streets were quiet and still, a little purple truck came rumbling up the hill. Putt-putt-putt! Putt-putt-putt! Its headlights glowed like two friendly moons. Behind the steering wheel sat Poppy the mole, wearing her big round glasses. It was the middle of the night, and it was time for the dream delivery.

In the back of the truck sat rows and rows and rows of glowing jars. They shone in every color of the rainbow, red and orange, green and blue, and some that had no name at all. Each jar held one dream, and each dream was tied up with a ribbon. On every lid there was a name, written in curly golden letters.

There was a blue jar for Ben, with a dream about a bouncing bunny. There was a green jar for Grandpa Gus, with a dream about a quiet fishing pond. And there was a shiny gold jar for baby Ruby, with a dream about singing bubbles. Poppy checked them all once, and she checked them all twice, because every dream mattered.

Poppy wore her big round glasses and her cozy yellow scarf, which her grandmother had knitted for her. She tapped her little paw on the steering wheel. "We must deliver every single dream before the sun peeks up," she said to her truck, Bumble. "That's the rule." The truck went putt-putt-putt, which meant, "I know, I know."
