Once upon a time…

Captain Coral tapped her claws on the old, crinkly map, click, click, click. She was a small crab with a very big hat, and she had never once been lost. "X marks the spot," she said, pointing to a big red cross. "And Y marks the snack." She tucked a sandwich under her hat, just in case. It was going to be a long voyage.

Her crew of jellyfish saluted, which mostly meant wobbling. There were seven of them, and they were called Wobble, Jiggle, Bobble, Squish, Squelch, Pip and Bob. The ship set sail, a teacup with a sail made of seaweed, and the tide carried it out of the harbor with a gentle whoosh. "Anchors aweigh!" cried Captain Coral.

After a day and a night, they found the spot. But the treasure was not gold, and it was not jewels. It was a pearl, as big as a beach ball and as white as milk, and it was glowing sadly on the sand. Captain Coral gasped. "That's not treasure," she whispered. "That's the moon's. She dropped it in the sea long ago."

Then a grumpy octopus rose out of the reef, all eight arms folded across his chest. "Finders keepers," he grumbled. "I found it, and I'm keeping it. It's the prettiest thing I've ever seen, and it makes my cave sparkle." Captain Coral did not argue. She sat down on a rock and thought very, very carefully.
